U.S. research team claims a network of 186 Gbps data transfer rate

A team of researchers from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), the University of Victoria and the University of Michigan, a new discovery in the world of information technology. They claim that successfully transferred a number of wide area networks with the ability to store data from one location to another location at 186 Gigabits per second (Gbps) is used.

They do this at the time of Supercomputing 2011 (SC11), held in Seattle, Washington, USA in mid-November. With these speeds, you can travel at least 100 000 BluRay discs over a network in a single day, about 2 million gigabytes.

Harvey Newman, professor of physics at Caltech and was the team leader, said that thanks to identify these skills, the way forward is clear. Furthermore, the technology is also capable of anything to show what is not found by previous generations.
